The government’s Leisure and Cultural Services Department operates a string of Water Sports Centres throughout the city. Vessels for hire include sailing dinghies, kayaks, and wind- and kite-surfing boards. They offer lessons at affordable prices but are often oversubscribed, leading to long waiting lists.
康樂及文化事務署Hong Kong’s oldest private club, VRC focuses not on sailing or motor yachts but more athletic pursuits: open-water swimming and human-powered vessels like outrigger canoes, surfskis, paddleboards, and dragon boats. It has one clubhouse in Deep Water Bay and another in Emerald Bay.
